Buying quarter - beginner's guide

At Mangarara, every quarter of beef tells a story - a story of care, connection, and commitment to the land. Our cattle roam freely on open pastures, nourished by healthy soil and sunshine, not by shortcuts. When you order a quarter beef from us, you’re not just buying meat — you’re becoming part of a regenerative cycle that honours every part of the animal and gives back to the earth that sustains us.

Nothing is wasted here. The bones return to the land to nourish new life; the meat goes to nourish families. It’s a way of farming built on respect - for the animal, for the land, and for the people who share in its bounty. From our farm to your table, you’ll taste the difference that pride and purpose make.

How much meat is a quarter beef?

When you bring home a quarter beef from Mangarara, you’re orderin appreximate 70kg of carcass. Your home yield after processing comes to around 47kg of beautifully raised, pasture-fed beef.

Your box includes a balanced selection of steaks, roasts, mince, stewing cuts, and around 7–8kg of sausages -
a full variety from nose to tail.

A quarter beef will usually feed a family of four for around 6 months (about 2–3 beef meals a week, or 1.75kg/week). For a smaller family of three, it stretches to 8–9 months and for a larger family of six, around 4–5 months.

How It Works
